Simplifying the checkout process

After the second round of usability testing, we decided that the order summary needed a bit more work.

Problems:

  • Screen doesn't allow for multiple items to be purchased

  • The screen feels crowded and unbalanced

Moderated testing insights:

  • Some participants mentioned not knowing how to cancel

  • Unclear where payment method had been pulled from or if/how it could be changed

  • Some participants missed the default payment method messaging

Solution:

  • Screen was divided into 3 steps

  • Copy was updated to make it clear what you're purchasing, what your payment method is and how to manage your subscription.

  • Today's payment sits above items to allow list to go off the screen
